Crikey!

What a great week. So much has happened, so quickly, that its hard to appreciate where we were a week ago.

The team from Vander Construction were here from Tuesday to Friday. With up to 6 tradesmen on the job, things really got done.

Firstly, the Alfresco area out back is now ready for its tin roof.

Secondly, the split landings at the back of the house and in front of the Alfresco were constructed. They are all but ready for the decking boards.

Then there’s the stair case leading from the high level landing to the upstairs house. The stairways between the two landings and the one from the lower landing to the back yard are also ready to be bolted into place

A couple of the guys were involved in adding more Hardie Primeline cladding to the outside of the house..

Perhaps the most noticeable change, that is visible from the street, is the roof framing for the main house. This includes the front verandah overhang and the portico ceiling structure.

As the stairway to the upper house is now in place, the front window, of the upper house has been been built in.

To top it all off, a couple of the guys who did the Gyprock in the upper house last week, returned and sanded all the joints, making it ready for the painter to paint the inside of that house.  The top house is also ready for window panes, doors, plumbing and electrical fit off.

There are so many photos this week that its hard to select the few which a re most representative of the great progress that was made.

That’s it. The chippies are back next week to continue the roof, cladding and verandahs. Hopefully the glazier will come as well. That will allow removal of a lot more scaffold that is in everybody’s way.
