Steppin’ up

The staircases to the top house were finished this week. The slight deviation from the plans means that we now have very much improved and simplified access between the Alfresco area, the upper house and the main house. The added bonus is a small deck area outside the Alfresco.

Also this week, the garage received a lot of attention. It is now ready for ceiling and roof cladding.

That’s not all. Just take a look at the upstairs balcony now. The bush pole supports are in place and the Glosswood ceiling has been fitted.

What a transformation

Back to the front now. The boys continued working on the main roof framing. The skillion roof over Bedroom 1 with an angle to match the top house roof is ready for the tin to go on.

One more thing. Come around the back again. The verandah roof has been started.

Next week, it will be carried on around the side and join with the roof across the front. That will complete the roof form and once the tin is on, it should look quite classy.

We’re looking forward to the boys returning next week. We are also ready for more plumbing prep work and electrical cabling and fit offs.

Seeing this great progress reminds us how lucky we are that Steve Fisher, of Contour Builders agreed to take on this build, the home of our dreams. It is no secret that two other builders baulked at the project when it was offered to them. Thanks Steve. You are a champion.
