Another action filled week.
Those in attendance were the carpenters, the plumber, the glazier, the roofer and Steve, the boss
The roof is now in full readiness for the tin to go on. Mick, our roofing man came and measured everything up with regard to sheet lengths, flashings and gutters.
The carpenters pulled out all stops to get the roof built and the battens screwed down. To add to this, the high level windows have been framed up and we are now waitng for those to be built and delivered.
We have just a couple of small last minute alterations to be done to cater for a wood fire flue in the main living area and sealing and drainage of the alfresco area roof. That will happen before the tin goes on.
The door frames are in, the doors hung and the locks and handles installed. The skirting boards are all attached as well.
Due to a misunderstanding of requirements, the installation of the window panes in the upstairs house, has been deferred until the roof sheeting is on. We do however, have the glass sliding doors installed.
Brad Fiori, our plumber, came back and fitted more water pipes and tap and mixer bases. The waste water and dunny pipes have also been extended to the outside of the house. This has created another job for the carpenters and that is to build some bulkheads to accommodate this piping within the house. That’s ok, we know that the boys love working down here.
We have been assured, that next week, our team of electricians will return to fit off lights and power upstairs and complete the pre-cabling downstairs.
