We entertained 3 trades this week. Firstly, our intrepid roof plumber added some touches to the roof and cut in the spouts for the downpipes.
Next were the chippies. They worked hard and fast, putting in the beams and joists for the all the way around verandah.
They then scrounged around for anything flat and strong, to provide a temporary walking surface on the verandah. The glaziers were about to arrive and they ‘re not that good at stepping across joists, carrying large sheets of double glass.
The Enduradeck, synthetic wood, decking boards, are on order and when they arrive, the verandahs will look a little more up market.
Did I mention the glaziers? Well, the man with the glass arrived on Sunday morning and in a few short hours , the glass was in. That is, all but the high level windows in the living room and the Alfresco area windows. Those frames are on order and should arrive with glass installed. The carpenters will fit them.
With the windows now in place, it means that the work on the inside of the house can now proceed.
We are now looking forward to the wall cladding on the inside and outside of the house to be completed. We’re also ready for the front and back doors.
We’ll keep you posted.
