Inside and out

We had 10 tradesmen on site together this week. The results are quite fantastic.

Firstly, the Gyprock installers, a highly skilled team of 6 men, hit the ground running on Tuesday morning.  They worked and they worked until Friday evening to get the inside of the house completely insulated and lined.

The guys did a great job and put in a lot of time, making sure that the site was clean at the end of the job. Really pleasing.

On Wednesday, the carpenters were back. They also stayed until stumps of Friday and they are no slouches when it comes to getting the work done.

Their mission was to get the outer cladding completed. They also did a tremendous job making alterations to tidy up a lot of the flashings around the roof line, to eliminate all possibility of water ingress.

The boys worked in horrendous conditions. We had a full blown winter storm. They had to do something to combat the force 5 gales and horizontal rain. The picture below is the best they could do.

Even with the shelter, it was very uncomfortable. All the more so when the guys inside the house were working in shorts and no shirts on.

The following pictures were taken after the storms had passed. The sight of blue skies was something very unusual this week.

Well, our builder has really got the ball rolling now. We are expecting visits from the electricians, the tiler, the painter, the carpenters, and the cabinet maker in the coming week.

Bring it on.
