Well, it has been a long time between updates. However, quite a bit has happened.
We have had Mozi the painter back. He has finished all the painting in the upstairs house and has all but finished the outside of both places. He is currently working inside in the lower house.
Mal from Concrete Angel is currently working on the driveway and floor for the garage.
OK, there’s more. We’ve made a few changes around the back. The biggest one is the revamped landing and staircase for the back verandahs and upstairs house. The previous configuration was presenting insurmountable problems in getting the Alfresco area water tight and weather sealed. A complete re-design was necessary and we are now confident that the problems are going to be easily resolved and that we’ll have a nice secure area in the fun part of the house. We thank Rick and hes able team of carpenters in working with us on this one.
Yep. That little landing sure looks high but its not that bad in reality. The treads on the seps are now finished as well. Those long skinny poles are of course just temporary props.
Back on the inside, downstairs, the carpenters have nearly completed fitting all the doors. Its really starting to look like a house.
OK, now for the constant question, “When are ya gonna move in?” Well, its actually getting exciting. We think the upstairs cabinet works will be completed this week and we are hoping for the plumber to fit off the taps and waste pipes . A shower screen and hot water hookup and we’re nearly there. The window treatments are a work in progress, as we speak, so the exciting day, when we can move out of the shed and caravan and into the top house is very near.
More soon.
