It’s been busy times again.
Firstly, Mick, our tin man has been and finished the cladding on the rear and the side of the Alfreco area. He has measured up the final bits of flashing that he needs and he’ll be back really soon to finish off.
Mozi came as well. Always nice to see him. So much so, he is also doing work for other family members. He has painted out the downstairs bedrooms, entrance, hallways and activity room. The main living room area is all but finished as well.
Matt Parnell, is a newcomer to the project. He and his team have just done the render on the main entry structure and the front of the garage. They also took care of the upstairs column feature wall. It turns out that Matt is from my own home town of Narrogin and knows the same bunch of ratbags that I grew up with. Despite this, he is an excellent tradesman. We have added Matt’s details to the “Our Team” page of this blog.
Steve, number two son, from SP Electrical, was also down for a couple of days. The main internal switchboard is now complete and the power points and lights in the downstairs house have all been fitted off now. The meter box has been wired in readiness for the the incoming mains power to be connected. We are hoping that the cutover for that, won’t take as long as the debacle we had when we first started this project and wanted to get the power taken off the old house, to be demolished and swung over to the temporary power box.
We are very happy to have the garage door in place. It allows us to store items in the garage, as we move from our Marmion home, which has been sold and must be vacated by the 28th of this month.
In the above pictureyou also get to see the completed rendering and that column feature upstairs. That downpipe? No, don’t worry, that’s a temporary fixture. Mick will fit the proper one soon.
