Moving in is continuing and each day, we do a little more to make this place our home. We’ve had further building progress as well.
The people from Britone in Wangara came and measured for splashback, mirrors and shower screens. A week later, they returned and installed the finished product. We are very pleased with the look.
Our mate Mozi, the painter, paid a quick visit and gapped and touched up all the skirting boards and painted the garage ceiling. There are still quite a few unpacked boxes in there but he was able to reach accross far enough to get to all the spots.
Steve, the builder, Spent two days here with Neville, the fitting carpenter. They fitted the stainless steel wire balustrading with posts and toprails. Mozi will stain the toprail, to more closely match the bush pole colour, on his next visit, in the new year. Neville also added a couple of bits of the wooden balustrading to finish off around the back.
OK, now for the most important room in the house, the Alfresco. Work has started, to make this space usable. We have temporary benches and barbecue and table installed. Permamnet fixtures include a couple of new bar fridges, a 65″ TV and an air conditioner. Also, a drinks barrel/table and 4 stools are in place. We’ll burchase the benches and permanent built in barbecue in the new year. The range hood is on site and will be installed soon as well
Son Steven, our electrician, is here too. He has wired up all 3 air conditioners that I installed. Got’em all finished, the day after our 41°C day. That’d be right!
Well, this may be it for the year. The finishing touches will be applied in the new year and then the real work starts. Establishing the gardens and interior decor, etc.
We have Steven and his family here now, in readiness for Christams. Russell and Nicola and partners will be here as well. Both houses will be full and all are looking forward to a fun filled holiday season at Binno.
Cheers and Merry Christmas from Maryanne and Alek.
